Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaswamigal, known to millions simply as Mahaperiyava, was the 68th Acharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. He was head of the mutt from 1907 until his passing in 1994, a span of eighty seven years, and he walked the length and breadth of India on foot for much of it. The incidents from his life have been recorded for decades in books, magazines, temple publications, devotee memoirs and, more recently, across countless websites and forums.

Those accounts are scattered. They sit in old print runs, in Tamil weeklies, in blog posts written by people who met him, in comment threads where a grandchild recounts what a grandmother saw. This site gathers stories that are already documented on the internet and presents them in comic style storytelling, so that a reader of any age can sit with one incident and understand what happened and why it mattered.

How we work

Every chapter begins with the source material. We read what has been published about the incident, compare accounts where more than one exists, and note where they agree. The events, the people, the places and the dates are taken from those records. We then write the chapter completely in our own words. Nothing is copied.

Comic storytelling needs things that historical records rarely preserve: the colour of a doorway, the sound of a street at noon, the exact phrasing of an ordinary aside. Where we have supplied such connecting scenery, the chapter says so plainly. We would rather tell the reader what is documented and what is imagined than blur the two.

All artwork on this site is drawn by us as original vector illustration. No photographs, no scanned images and no third party art are used.

Every story is available in full in English, Tamil and Hindi. These are not machine translations dropped in as an afterthought. Each language version is written to read naturally to someone who reads only that language, and the toggle at the top of any page switches the entire site instantly.
